|He's a real fruity bastard, isn't he?|
|Character Popularity Poll Ranking||#19|
...Are you done? May I vomit now? Bwa ha ha! What a flowery harangue! Men are beasts! Nothing more! We fight! We kill! We devour our prey! Beasts do not stand behind beasts, little prince... They use each other only so long as it suits their own selfish purpose!
Gangrel was the king of Plegia. And as king, he spent countless hours harrassing the pacifist Emmeryn over things her father did. What a nice guy!
Simply put: He's an asshole.
A flamboyant one at that. With lots of cackling and insults and just plain being an unbearable person to be around. But at the very least, he doesn't actually worship Grima, like most Plegians do. But in the end, he was just Validar's puppet. Being manipulated by his minion Aversa.
He is the only one to call Chrom out on his bloodlust, but since he's a warmongering bastard himself, you're not meant to take him seriously.
However, when he's found alive after his defeat, he is very repentant and full of self-loathing. Even accepting Zanth's label as "maggot". Only Support Conversations with Robin can snap him out of this. And in those Support Conversations, he will claim that his goal all along was to unite the continent to deal with Walhart. Hahahahahahahaha..... you god damn liar.
Talk to him with Chrom three times in Paralogue 18, and he will join.
As a UnitEditBecause Gangrel joins so late, has no children other than Morgan, and has a rather lackluster class set, he is overlooked. He is able to make a decent Nosfertank due to Sorcerer access, but by the time you recruit him, Tharja, Henry, or Robin should already be built for the role.
Significance on the Fire Emblem: Awakening boardEdit
As a major villain, Gangrel is discussed often when talking about Awakening's story. Some think Gangrel should have been the main villain because Walhart "came out of nowhere and felt forced".
Other than that, there are a few people who support GangrelxEmmeryn. Mostly for the irony, but also because Optimization experts believe that the child they would have produced would have been "godly".
- His bio says that he is the one in the army that is most scared of heights. Quite ironic, seeing how he made Emmeryn jump to her death.
- His Paralogue uses the same map as Chapter 1: The Grustian Expedition, from Fire Emblem: Mystery of the Emblem and the remake. He also has a similar recruitment method to Katarina from New Mystery of the Emblem. With Katarina, you make her talk to Kris 3 times. With Gangrel, you make him talk to Chrom 3 times.
